Slow Food Foothills will host a potluck this Sunday, Feb. 9 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to kick off Valentine’s week at the Ruby Slipper in Tryon.

Ruby Slipper’s owner, Melanie Archer lets attendees in on her Spring plans for the restaurant.

The theme of this month’s potluck will be decadence so bring a favorite dish that inspires thoughts of foods related to this word.

Beer, wine and beverages will be available for sale with a special focus on the bubbly Cava available in half bottles. The Slow Food board members will be returning from an all-day board retreat in Barnardsville fresh with loads of inspirational plans for the year.

As is the case with all potlucks, participants are asked bring a local, seasonal dish to share along with personal tableware (plates, bowls, silverware, napkins).

With each dish, please bring a description denoting dishes that are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free (for people with dietary restrictions or food allergies) plus denote use of any local ingredients. Recipes also are encouraged as many people like to share.

Slow Food Foothills is a sub-chapter of Slow Food Asheville and part of an international organization that promotes fresh, clean and fair food for all.

This potluck is open to all members of the community. For more information, visit www.slowfoodashevillefoothills.org, e-mail us at info@slowfoodashevillefoothills.org.
