Kiwanians work hard at last year’s dinner.

After emptying industrial kitchen-sized pots of spaghetti in November, the Kiwanis Club of Tryon has decided to take on another crowd-pleaser – chili.
The Kiwanis Club of Tryon will host its second annual chili supper Saturday, Feb. 8 from 5-7 p.m. at Holy Cross Episcopal Church.
The men and women of Kiwanis plan to labor over hot stoves most of the day Saturday to bring the community huge pots of warm chili with all the fixings.
Cheese, sour cream, cornbread and salad are all on the menu to enhance the meal. Plus, those who have been to a Kiwanis fundraiser meal before know the desserts themselves are worth the ticket price. To-go meals are also available.
The night will also include a country-western theme with toe-tapping live music to go along with the meal.
Tickets are available at the door and proceeds provide support to the Eliminate Project, aimed at eradicating the painfully deadly disease of neonatal tetanus from the Earth.
