Angela Bryner of Hendersonville, N.C. is the new community mediation coordinator at The Mediation Center.

She recently began working out of The Mediation Center’s Hendersonville office. The Mediation Center serves residents in Polk and Henderson counties. Before joining The Mediation Center, Bryner was employed as an intern at Transitions Mental Health in Moline, Ill. Earlier, she helped implement a conflict resolution program for elementary age students.

Bryner is responsible for initial intake for prospective clients and for case management of community mediation cases, which includes arranging mediation sessions for mediators and clients. She makes weekly visits to the district court in Hendersonville to confer with those case initiators and respondents who might be interested in mediation service as an alternative to having their cases heard in court.

Bryner has a master’s degree in counseling as well as a longtime interest in the mediation process. She and her husband Jay have four children – ages 2 through 10. She began familiarizing their children with mediation while living in Davenport, Iowa, and continues to instruct them in the process.

Bryner also enjoys “writing about life, including my life experiences.

I enjoy the challenge of making everyday details interesting enough for others to read.”

Her other main outside interest is “reading historical fiction.”
