PCHS indoor track team competes at Winston-Salem fast track

Polk County High Indoor Track teams traveled to JDL Fast Track In Winston-Salem Friday, Jan. 17 for the Mini-Meet competition.

Matthew Darden ran 6.92 in the Men’s 55 meter placing 15th and 37.81 in the 300 meter placing 12th. In the 1,000 meter; Jacob Collins placed 12th posting a state qualifying time of 2:48 and Eli Hall placed 27th in 3:00.  Mitchell Brown ran 5:10 placing 22nd in the 1,600 meter. In the shot put, JC Suddeth threw 40-00 placing third and Stephen Stimac threw 36-11.5 placing 10th. The men’s 4×400 meter relay team placed fifth in 3:46 (Collins, Hall, Gage Stone, Darden).

The Lady Wolverines placed fourth in the 4×800 meter relay in 11:47 (Savannah Robbins, Shea Wheller, Shelby Wells, Emily Kocher). In the 55 Meter; Jennifer Griffin placed 29th in 8.85, Rhian Alley placed 30th in 9.09.  Wheeler placed 24th in the 1,000 Meter in 3:55.

Joy Shanahan placed 31st in the 300 Meter in 55.32. Wells placed 11th in 1:39 in the 500 meter in shot put; Charlie Bullock took fourth by throwing a personal record 32-05.75, Tameeia Brown was 10th in 25-00.25, and Maggie Silvers placed 17th in 19-09.75.  The 4×400 meter relay (Wheeler, Alley, Kocher and Robbins) placed 12th in 5:01.

The Wolverines will compete at the David Oliver Classic this Friday and Saturday at JDL.
