Gospel singers will unite for a common cause at Singing for Soldiers  at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at the Sunny View Elementary School gym in Mill Spring, and everyone in the area has an open invitation to come to the gym and give a listen.
The performers will include Michael Upright, Soldiers for the Cross, Colt Creek Bluegrass Gospel and Joyful Noise.
Each group offers up a unique sound, and combined, they hope to create an atmosphere of hope, faith, and reverence.
The organization will be accepting donations to be shipped overseas to soldiers.
They’ve requested basic supplies that will bring happiness and a bit of down-home comfort to military personnel, such as hard candy, white athletic socks, chapstick, razors, hand sanitizer, baby wipes, deodorant and card games.
