The Polk County Public Library has started a new program for young adults.

The Teen Book Club began in November and meets once a month to discuss a novel that the members vote on.

So far the club has read “Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins and Divergent by Veronica Roth. The next meeting is on Jan. 16 and the group will talk about “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” by Ransom Riggs.

The Teen Book Club meets on the third Thursday of every month at 4 p.m.

If you would like to join, come by the library or contact Amanda at 828-894-8721 or aedwards@polklibrary.org.

All local middle and high school students are welcome. Each member gets a copy of the book free every month, and there are also snacks and prizes at every meeting.
