Foothills Music Club Inc. will feature a mystery guest performer at its Jan. 9 public concert.
A student of piano and voice, the mystery guest also has an interest in painting. This person lives in Tryon but has ties to Spartanburg, Charleston and Greenville, S.C.
The mystery guest has served on the Tryon Fine Arts Center board and the Music Foundation of Spartanburg.
Community members are invited to attend the concert to learn the identity of this mystery guest performer and enjoy additional performances by club scholarship winners Kate Riedy and Katherine Barker.
FMC club members Karen Killough, Jeri Board, Meryt Wilson, Jeanette Comer, Karen Molnar, John Gardner, Elaine Jenkins and Ellen Harvey Zipf are also on the program.
The concert will be on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. at Isothermal Community College (Polk campus) in Columbus. It is free and open to the public; donations to the FMC Scholarship Fund for young musicians will be accepted.
2014 auditions for FMC scholarship awards are scheduled for March. Information about the awards is available at www.foothillsmusicclub.org.
