Saluda artist Jim Carson will offer an indoor oil and/or acrylic workshop, titled “Painting in the Studio/ Brushwork Boot Camp” on Thursday-Saturday, Jan. 23-25.
The workshop is designed for people who want to step out and be more expressive with their paintings, particularly in color, contrast, texture and bold marks.
The workshop will be taught in Carson’s studio, which is on the second floor above the Saluda Grade Café, in Saluda. The students will learn to make fresh and spontaneous paintings from photographs, and there will be lots of one on one instruction time.
The workshop is open to all levels, from beginner to advanced. A list of needed materials, as well as paint selections, brushes, etc., will be furnished after registration.
The price of the workshop includes lunch brought to the studio each day by The Saluda Grade Café.
