Tryon Arts and Crafts School opens winter session Jan. 6

Students looking to enhance their artistic skills or anyone whose placed getting more creative on their New Year’s resolution list might want to consider taking a class at the Tryon Arts and Crafts School.
Winter Session One begins Jan. 6 and runs through Feb. 15. All classes are six weeks unless otherwise noted. Below is a list of courses offered:
Weaving with Suzanne Monroe and Kris Schweikardt: Tuesdays 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. This class can be joined at any time.

Lapidary with Katelyn McCall:  Saturdays 9 a.m.-noon.

Pottery Open Studio: Mondays, 2-5 p.m. Members only, must be intermediate level and be approved by instructor.

Pottery: Handbuilding for intermediate students or students with prior clay experience with Ann Gleason: Mondays, 6-9 p.m.

Pottery for Adult & Child with Nancy Heim: Tuesdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Cost is for two people.

Stained Glass with Petra Brooks: Thursdays, 6-9 p.m.

Pottery, Beginning to Intermediate Wheel with Jim Cullen: Wednesdays, 1-4 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.; Course fee includes 25-pound bag of clay, glazing and firing of clay.

Basic Wheel Throwing with Mary Lou Diekmann: Mondays, 10 a.m. -1 p.m.; Course fee includes 25-pound bag of clay, glazing and firing of that clay.

Intermediate to Advanced Silversmithing with Danielle Miller: Wednesdays, 2-5 p.m.

Beginning & Intermediate Silversmithing with Danielle Miller: Wednesdays, 6-9 p.m.

Beginning Silversmithing with Katie Poterala: Fridays, 1-4 p.m.

All Levels of Metal Clay with Landen Gailey: Making Bell from Bronze Clay Thursdays, 1-4 p.m. (Completion of beginning level required)

Intermediate Enameling with Landen Gailey: Thursdays, 9 a.m.-noon.
Fused Glass with Karoline Shaffer & John O’Rourke: Saturdays, 9:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.; experienced or beginning – Saturdays, 2-5 p.m. for five weeks – Jan. 25 and Feb. 1, 8 and 15.

Fused Glass Open Studio: Wednesdays, 6-9 p.m.
