Fred Edward Howard died Dec. 22.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Surviving are his wife, Margie Colien Atkins Howard of Landrum; grandson, Timothy Gene “Tim” Massengale (Brenda) of Taylors, S.C.; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Howard was predeceased by daughter, Imogene Howard Massengale.
Services were Tuesday, Dec. 24 at Highland Baptist Church.
