The Polk County High School Cabinet Making II class recently constructed several bluebird feeders in their class.
The feeders are of a special type designed by the late Les Creatty.
Creatty was a former resident of Tryon, who after retiring to Polk County in the 1980s spent much of his time in retirement making Eastern Bluebird nesting boxes and feeders.
The feeders are filled with a special homemade mixture of corn meal, flour, peanut butter and lard.
A limited number of extra bluebird feeders were created and currently available at FENCE or at the Polk County Extension Center in Columbus.
