Landrum High School Cardinal Pride Marching Band will step in style this spring in their new uniforms.
“I think the new band uniforms look excellent,” said Jessica Pym, assistant band director. “They are a sleek, streamlined design that really add to the visual element of our program. New band uniforms will add to the visual design of our marching band program. The new uniforms are much more streamlined than our old ones. This will give our marching drill designs a more crisp, clean feel.”
“We unveiled our new uniforms at our Christmas Concert on Thursday, Dec. 12 at Landrum High School,” Pym said. “We had scheduled to wear them for the Landrum, Inman, and Spartanburg Christmas parades but the rain clouds had other plans.”
Band uniforms are financed through the general budget on a specific rotation schedule, and this year was the rotation year for Landrum High School.
Barry Bridwell has directed the band program since 1995, and the band has received an excellent rating for the past nine consecutive years.
Jordan Bishop led the Cardinal Pride as the drum major this year as they high-stepped to their theme, “Epic.”
“Being a part of the Landrum High School Marching Band is a special thing,” Pym said. “I am most proud of the quality of students we have.
Our students excel in musicianship, academics and leadership. They are a marvelous group of students to work with every day. Band participation helps a person’s overall development by providing an outlet for expression. Through music you are able to convey your feelings to an audience.”
