Water line break in Melrose Ave. area

The Town of Tryon Public Works Department is working on a major water line break in the Melrose Ave Ext. area.

Town manager Joey Davis said the line has gushed about 5,000 gallons of water a minute. He said the estimated time of repairs is around 8-10 hours though it could be longer.

Customers in the Melrose/Doubleday Rd. and surrounding areas will be affected though because the line is near the main trunk line, Davis asked that all customers using Tryon water do their best to conserve this evening and tomorrow.

Davis recommended that all customers boil water before using it until further notice.
