Lina Jean Vance Smith, 66, of Smith Dairy Road, Columbus, NC died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at her home.

Born in Avery County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Anna Arliss Vance and was  the widow of Robert F. Smith who died in 2007.  Lina last worked for Mastercraft in Rutherford County, N.C.

Surviving are:  two sons, Robby Smith (Regina) of Lake Lure, N.C. and William “Lonnie” Smith (Casey) of S.C.; two sisters, Louise Buchanan and Ruth Young, both of Minneapolis, N.C.

Also surviving is a grandchild, Bryan Smith of Lake Lure, N.C. and two step grandchildren Nathan and Elizabeth.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
