Saluda Center raffling off Christmas village for porch project

Published 6:24 pm Friday, December 6, 2013

The Saluda Center is raffling off a complete miniature Christmas village to help raise money to help pay for the recent enclosure of the building’s front porch.

The village is based on the classic movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” and is on display now until Dec. 11 at the center.

Dan and Marti Wells collected the village over a period of years, and it contains more than 20 structures.

Each house and business is made of ceramic material and is lighted. The village is set up on a 4×8 sheet of wood, which is also included with the village.

Also included are vehicles, people, train track and decorative train, Christmas tree lot, trees and other decorative items.

Anyone interested in seeing the village can do so at the Saluda Center from now until Dec. 11 in the new addition.

Raffle tickets are available at the Center, the Thrifty Barn and Macon Bank.

You don’t have the space to set it up? Donate it to a church, a school or some other place that could enjoy the display as part of their Christmas decoration.

There is a photo of the Village in the “Saluda Lifestyles”…look under “Bedford Falls Village” or “Saluda Center.”
