Polk County Board of Commissioners commends schools

Following is a resolution approved by the Polk County Board of Commissioners in recognition of Polk County Schools being awarded the five-year district accreditation.

Whereas, the Polk County School System was awarded five-year district accreditation on Nov. 6, 2013; and

Whereas, the Public School Forum of North Carolina noted in their Fall 2013 publication that the Polk County School System’s overall education ranking is number one in the state of North Carolina; and

Whereas, Polk County School System’s graduation rate is the third highest in the state; and

Whereas, the Polk County School System met 100 percent of its 2012/2013 annual measureable objectives targets.

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Polk County Board of Commissioners do hereby commend the Polk County School System for its continued excellence.
