Saluda Hometown Christmas events set for next weekend

Santa Claus will be coming to Saluda for the city’s hometown Christmas Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14.

The Saluda Business Association sponsors Friday’s events with an open house and music on Main Street and Greenville Street Friday, Dec. 13 from 6-8 p.m. An Ecumenical Service at the Saluda Presbyterian Church at 8:30 p.m. Then on Saturday, Dec. 14, Saluda Children’s Christmas workshop will be at the Boarding house venue, which is above Thompson’s Store from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids will do crafts, will take home gifts and ornaments. The workshop is for ages 5 and up. There’s a movie at the McCreery Park also on Saturday at 6 p.m. “It’s A Wonderful Life” will play.

The city’s Christmas parade will begin at 3 p.m. on Main Street. Prior to the Christmas parade, the third annual Christmas Dog Show and Parade Walk will be at the tennis courts of the Saluda School.

All dogs entered will receive a Christmas kerchief and dog treat with the winner of each class receiving a blue ribbon. For more information, call Judy Ward at 828-749-2321.
