Holistic Health Group discusses resources for catastrophic illness

The Tryon Holistic Health Discussion Group will hold its first official monthly discussion at the Polk County Public Library, Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Nan Keenan will lead a discussion on catastrophic illness, defining it, moving through it and developing local resources for it. The meeting is open to professional healthcare providers and members of the general public interested in discussing holistic approaches to health of body, mind and spirit.

Mark Neville, the organizer of the group, is a resident of Tryon and holistic healthcare professional who specializes in care of spirit. He manages the Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Music Therapy and Bereavement programs for Four Seasons Compassion for Life in Flat Rock.

Neville said, “Eighteen folks participated in our initial organizational meeting on Nov.2. There was a lot of excitement and interest in starting such a group in this area. It’s a great opportunity for professional healthcare providers as well as for members of the general public to meet, get acquainted and learn together.”
