Tryon residents will see a different structure this year with leaf collection as Tryon is contracting the service out.
Thompson’s Landscaping is scheduled to begin leaf pick-up on Monday, Dec. 2.
Tryon Town Council met Nov. 19 and heard an update from public works director Joel Burrell concerning leaf collection. Burrell said the first seven days Thompsons is scheduled to collect leaves on the east side of the railroad tracks and the next seven days Thompsons is scheduled to collect leaves on the west side of the tracks, weather permitting.
Thompsons will be using its own leaf collection machine. The town put $10,000 in this year’s budget to contract out the leaf collection. Burrell said the plan is to collect leaves again in late January or the first of February.
