The assault occurred at Body Synergy in Flat Rock, where Lilly leased a space. Lilly also saw patients at Adawehi Wellness Center in Columbus, where Adawehi Director Jackie Woods said last week that Lilly’s lease would be terminated. Lilly was still practicing at Adawehi as recently as last week, according to news reports. Adawehi officials said they had no idea until a news station told them.
“Dr. Lilly rents office space in my facility,” Woods said in a statement. “We will be terminating his lease.”
Body Synergy also said they terminated Lilly’s lease and that they were never made aware of the incident.
The woman, who is now 74, said that she fell asleep during her appointment and when she awoke one of Lilly’s hands was on her chest and the other was underneath her gown between her legs.
Lilly pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault on a female in Henderson County Court on Aug. 15 and was sentenced to one year of counseling.
The N.C. Board of Chiropractic Examiners suspended Lilly’s license for six months beginning Jan. 1, 2014. Following the suspension Lilly is ordered to be on probation for two years. During that probation a nurse must be present for any exam involving a female patient.
