Edwin Ludwig Wilson

Edwin Ludwig Wilson, 71, of Tryon, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at his home.
Born in Chicago, he was the son of the late Edwin Leslie and Gertrude Louise Wilson.
He was a Lieutenant Colonel with the Civil Air Patrol and a past Boy Scout Commissioner.
Mr. Wilson was a 25-year member of Kiwanis, was affiliated with Med Pro Rx, a specialty pharmacy in Raleigh, N.C.; was senior director of the advocacy program for Hemophilia and past president of the Hemophilia Foundation of North Carolina.
He was a member of the Tryon Congregational Church of Christ where he served as a member of the Board of Education and taught Sunday school.
Surviving is his wife, Catherine Ross Wilson; one son, Edwin Ross Wilson (Natalie) of Raleigh, N.C.; two grandsons, Luc and Sam Wilson; three sisters, Jeanne Franklin (Don) of Gallatin, Tenn. Judith Gibson (Tony) of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Barbara Hobbs of North Haven, Conn..
Also surviving are his much-adored nieces and nephews.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Ed will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon.
