Tryon Halloween Stroll Oct. 31

Published 11:07 pm Wednesday, October 30, 2013

It’s time once again for the ghosts and goblins of the Foothills to come out and take part in the annual Tryon Halloween Stroll on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 4:30-6 p.m. followed by a costume contest at Rogers Park from 6-7 p.m.
Every boy and ghoul, young and old, is invited to dress up to see what tricks or treats await them from downtown Tryon businesses such as ‘SCARE YOUka Fine Art, La BOOOOteille Boutique and TERROR on Trade.
Grace Church is providing their annual fun festive maze again, so try to make it through – if you dare.
If the evening air sends a chill down your spine head to lower Trade Street and warm up with some cider provided by McFarland Funeral Home.
While you’re there, stop by the Tryon Fire Department and sink your fangs into a bag of piping hot popcorn.
After filling your goody bag with treats that would make any dentist shiver in fear, hurry over to Rogers Park for the costume contest. Age groups will be 0-3, 4-8, 9-12 and 13-16.
Each age group will have three categories for winners: spookiest, funniest and cutest. Each winner will receive great prizes donated from local businesses.
As always, Andy Millard will be your master of SCAREmonies for the event.
The contest judges will be in costume as well, so swing by and see if you can recognize them.
This fun, safe and admission-free event is brought to you by the Tryon Downtown Development Association.
