On Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 2:30 p.m., James Metcalf will serve as moderator of a panel of Polk County Vietnam veterans at the Polk County Historical Museum on Walker Street in Columbus.
The program will feature a question and answer session of five Polk County veterans from different communities in the county, reflecting on their time in service as well as before and after the war.
Major combat operations began in Vietnam in 1965 and ceased in 1973 – 40 years ago. Special artifacts, war souvenirs and photos from the era will also be on display from the museum’s collection as well as those brought by the speakers.
The event is open to the public and vets and their families are especially encouraged to attend.
