Betty Roddy Jackson Estes, 74, of Jamestown, N.C. passed away Sunday evening, Oct. 27, 2013 in High Point Regional Hospital, High Point, N.C.

Born in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mattie Pack Roddy. Mrs. Estes moved to Jamestown in 1991. She was a member of Cross of Calvary Baptist Church, Trinity, N.C.

Surviving is her husband of 20 years, Rev. Arthur Estes; two sons, Edward Jackson (Crystal) of Green Creek and John Jackson of Jamestown, N.C.; two daughters, Ann Kuykendall (Thurman) of Tryon and Barbara Miller (James) of Campobello, S.C.; two step-sons, Steve Estes (Kim) of Griffin, Ga. and Charles Estes (Amy) of Thomasville, N.C.; two brothers, James Roddy of Shiloh, N.C. and Curtis Roddy (Frances) of Harris, N.C. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Roddy and one sister, Edith McEntire.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Don Collins officiating.

Burial will be in the Green River Baptist Church cemetery located at 2880 Ken Miller Rd, Rutherfordton, N.C. 28139.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 2-2:45 p.m. in McFarland Funeral Chapel. At other times, the family will be at their homes.
