Sing along with White Oak Singers Oct. 16 at Congregational Church
Published 10:13 am Friday, October 11, 2013
Join the Tryon Congregational Church for an evening of songs and feel good music Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. a group of folks meet at Benson Hall to sing with the residents. Music, stories and fun are all in store each Tuesday.
The church will recreate that fun and fellowship on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the Congregational Church, 210 Melrose Ave., Tryon.
The song leaders and musicians will play and everyone will be invited to sing old time gospel, folk and just plain fun songs.
Steve Hardin, activities director for White Oak Assisted Living, will also join the group to talk about the joys and importance of volunteers in the White Oak Community.
The evening begins with a veggie soup supper sponsored by the Hands of Change Youth Service Group.
Homemade soup, breads and desserts will be the fare for a donation to the youth trip in April.
Supper begins at 5:30 p.m. and the program at 6 p.m. This program is open to the public and everyone is welcome.
