Vard Henry was presented with a certificate by Judy Warden, SWHF board member, as she was inducted into the Second Wind Hall of Fame on Sept. 16 at the Foothills Humane Society’s board meeting at FENCE.

Henry was sponsored by the FHS after serving on the board for many years, as well as the equine rescue board.

Selena Coffey, FHS executive director stated, “We are so pleased to sponsor Vard Henry for election to SWHF. She is very deserving of this recognition.”

Those individuals inducted into the Second Wind Hall of Fame are chosen by the organization’s board of directors to recognize those who have given themselves to the service of the community and mankind.

The SWHF annual luncheon was held Sept. 20 at Tryon Estates where all the inductees for 2013 were introduced.

In addition to her work on behalf of the animals,Vard is also President of the Green Blades Garden Club and serves meals throughout Polk County for Meals on Wheels.
