PCHS 2013 Homecoming contestants

This Friday night the following female students will participate as part of the Polk County High School homecoming court.
Representing the Freshman Class
Rhian Maguire Alley, daughter of George and Erin Alley of Columbus. Rhian had a principle part in the fall play, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and plays travel soccer. She is escorted by Gabe O’Brien, son of Chip and Dee O’Brien.
India Branham, daughter of David and Tammy Swain of Tryon. She plays volleyball and soccer and is involved with student ministries at Midway Baptist Church. India is escorted by Joshua Chupp, son of Martin and Esther Chupp.
Courtney Wilson, daughter of Brian and Julie Wilson of Sunny View. She enjoys horseback riding in the TROT program at FENCE and is a member of the FFA Club. Courtney is escorted by Carl Campbell, son of Jason Campbell and Buffy Blackwell.
Representing the Sophomore Class
Maddy Arrowood, daughter of Jeff and Kerry Arrowood of Green Creek. She is a varsity cheerleader and is the sophomore class vice president. Maddy is escorted by her brother, Trevor Arrowood.
Leslie Doolittle of Columbus is the daughter of Marty and Elaine Martin and Kirk Doolittle. She is a Foothills Humane Society volunteer and is a varsity basketball cheerleader. Leslie is escorted by Stephen Stimac, son of Stephen and Patricia Stimac.
Caroline Lee is the daughter of Rick and Amy Lee of Tryon. She plays varsity volleyball and is a member of Interact Club. Caroline is escorted by Daniel Painter, son of Danny and Angela Painter.
Savannah Ross of Mill Spring is the daughter of Joseph Ross and Jennifer Ross. She plays varsity volleyball and is a member of the Serendipity Club. Savannah is escorted by Harrison Fisher, son of Kevin and Andrea Fisher.
Representing the Junior Class
Moira Saxman Davis, daughter of John and Jocelyn Davis of Columbus. She is an accomplished dancer. Moira is an artist who makes and sells hats and Morris the horse ornaments. She is escorted by Isaac Palmer, son of Gale Palmer and the late Delacey Coats.
Alivia Livesay of Green Creek. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Mary Livesay. Alivia is the No. 1 seed on the PCHS women’s tennis team and is a seasoned equestrian event rider. She is escorted by her brother, Bailey Livesay.
Kara Danae Overholt of Tryon. She is the daughter of Patrick and Patricia Overholt. Kara was the 2012 Western Highlands Conference Volleyball Player of the Year and is an active member of Foothills Community Chapel Youth Group. She is escorted by Jaron Bontrager, son of Henry and Verna Bontrager.
Sarah Phipps, daughter of David and Genie Phipps of Sunny View. She is the junior class president and made school history by making it to the Final Four playoffs last year in volleyball. Sarah is escorted by her brother, Brett Phipps.
Lindsay Pruette of Sunny View is the daughter of Steven Pruette and Lisa Pruette. She was crowned Miss Sophomore and was the summer intern at Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry. Lindsay is escorted by Hunter Hilbig, son of Bill and Lori Hilbig.
Representing the Senior Class
Charlyn Zoe Bullock of Mill Spring is the daughter of Marilyn Poston and Paul Poston III. She is the senior class vice president and is a member of Interact Club and Climb. Charlie is the track and field MVP two years running. She plans to attend Western Carolina University and major in nursing. Charlie is escorted by her father, Paul Poston III.
Jacqueline Lindsay Doolittle of Columbus is the daughter of Marty and Elaine Martin and Kirk Doolittle. Lindsay is the president of Key Club, vice president of the Photography Club, a member of the National Honor Society and attended NC Governor’s School. Lindsay plans to attend a college and major in chemical engineering with a minor in environmental sciences. She is escorted by her father, Kirk Doolittle.
Lilah Allington Halbkat, daughter of Stanley and Lauren Halbkat of Tryon. Alli is the founder and president of Climb, is the No. 3 seed on the PCHS tennis team, a member of the National Honor Society and plays clarinet in the PCHS Concert Band. She plans to go to a four-year college for textile management and brand marketing. Alli is escorted by her father, Stanley Halbkat.
Monica Ann Holt of Columbus is the daughter of John Holt and Martha Holt. Monica is a member of FBLA, 2011 FACS president and is employed at Nature’s Storehouse. She plans to attend Appalachian State University. Monica is escorted by her father, John Holt.
Madeline Rose Howell of Mill Spring is the daughter of Dennis and Spring Bishop and Billy Howell. She is a varsity cheerleading captain, president of the Key Club, vice president of the Photography Club and is a volunteer at Grace Foothills Sunday School. Maddy plans to attend a four-year university and pursue a major in education or pre-med. She is escorted by her father, Billy Howell.
Itzel Najera, daughter of Rogelio Najera and Alma Rojas of Columbus. She is a member of HOSA, the Culture Club, the Art Club and Nursing Fundamentals. Itzel plans to graduate PCHS with her certified nursing assistant degree and attend college to become an ultrasound technician, as well as a Spanish translator in the medical field. She is escorted by her father, Rogelio Najera.
