Tryon’s N. Trade Street was lined Sunday, Oct. 6 with 70 pro-life supporters participating in the national “Life Chain” demonstration. These peaceful prayer vigils were held in more than 1,700 locations across the United States. “Here in Tryon, like in any city, it is important for us to raise awareness regarding the rights of the defenseless, voiceless, the most vulnerable in our midst,” said Fr. John Eckert. “Tryon, ‘Friendliest town in the South’ lived up to its name, as folks driving by supported with honks, waves and thumbs up.” (photo submitted by Nina Wolfe)
