Crafting at The Meeting Place Senior Center on Oct. 3
Published 9:45 am Wednesday, October 2, 2013
Join Emily Skipper and Patty Owens for some creative crafting – quick and easy, yet wonderful to behold – at The Meeting Place Senior Center in Columbus each Thursday afternoon at 12:15 p.m. Between them, Skipper and Owens have excellent craft ideas for the fall season.
On Thursday, Oct. 3, the featured project will be small memento boxes. These wooden boxes will be painted and adorned with flowers, leaves, birds and other pretties made from clay. These decorated boxes make excellent gifts.
On Thursday, Oct. 10, the group will create collages. Bring pictures of yourself, family and friends. Bring poems, sayings and songs that mean something to you. Clip pictures from magazines. Bring scraps from favorite cards. Bring any items that tell the story of you to be mounted into a tasteful, memorable collage.
There is no cost for either of these classes. Call The Meeting Place at 828-894-0001 to reserve a spot for either or both classes. Come early and join the group for lunch as well. There is a small fee for lunch for those under the age of 60 and by donation for any seniors who register with the meals program.
