In mid-September Polk County commissioners met with Department of Social Services (DSS) staff to better understand the mission of DSS.

“I was very pleased with the level of professionalism, that their staff displayed during their presentations to us,” said commissioner chair Michael Gage. “As one commissioner, I would say this is just the beginning of a better working relationship between us all.”

Involved in the meetings were Gage, Commissioner Ted Owens, Commissioner Ray Gasperson, Economic Services Supervisor Pallas Edwards, DSS Board Chair Pat Adcock, DSS Director Lou Parton, Social Work Supervisor Kim Wilson, Social Work Supervisor Jackie Johnson and Administrative Officer Julie Horne.
