Ruth Greene Reid, 88, of Green Creek, passed away on Aug. 25, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late Daniel Edgar and Della Johnson Greene and widow of Paul Elmer Reid. She was a member of Melvin Hill Church of the Brethren and was a retired CNA from Norris-Biggs Clinic.

She is survived by a son, Steve Reid (Barbara); two daughters, Wanda Cox (Jimmy) and Donna Pittman (David); a brother, Wayne Greene; two sisters, Stella Randolph and Inez Womack; seven grandchildren, Annette Reid (Garland Byers), Jeff Reid (Kim), Jeremy Reid, Justin Reid (Summer), Becky Morgan (Chris), Nathan Cox (Meghan) and Marche Pittman (Jennifer); 10 great-grandchildren, Jacob Pittman, Celia Pittman, Jordan Reid, Bentley Reid, Conner Byers, Dillan Bolt, Connor Morgan, Kelsey Cox, Steven James and Dakota James.

She was predeceased by a son, Larry Reid; two brothers, Jim and Bob Greene; a sister, “Sissy” Greene; a grandson, Todd Reid and a great grandson, Jon Bolt.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 at Melvin Hill Church of the Brethren. Funeral services will follow at the church at 3 p.m. conducted by Rev. Craig Scruggs, Rev. Earl Byers, Rev. Jimmy Cox and Rev. Dillan Bolt. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
