After a potluck dinner, wheelchair-bound world traveler, Anita Richardson gave an informal talk. Richardson, who moved to Pea Ridge more than 30 years ago, stressed the meaning of community.
She told about her travels; explained why she, her husband and two children settled in Pea Ridge; the wonderful friends she has made over the years and why everyone should be aware of the services available in Polk County.
Richardson could not have remained in her own home without the help of Polk County Transportation and Polk LIFECare (located at the Meeting House in Columbus), where she goes twice a week. Richardson also spoke regarding her years of stain glass design and the beautiful lighted wall-panel that she created for the Rutherford Hospital.
Everyone is invited to the next Pea Ridge gathering, an ice cream social with entertainment by Rosie Taylor and her Pea Ridge Blue Grass Band. The date is Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.
