The Columbus Lions Club recently presented the Lions top award, the Melvin Jones Fellowship, to past president, secretary and treasurer Charles E. Trevathan in recognition of his more than 20 years of faithful service to the club and the community.

An attractive plaque representing the award was presented recently to Trevethan at his home by Lion President Fran Goodwin.

The honor is named for the founder of Lions International and is given to few Lions. Lion Chuck is most pleased that women were first admitted to full membership in the local club on his watch as president. He has chaired many working committees and has always pitched in to help with any and all service efforts of the Columbus Lions, whether he was on the committee or not. Though presently sidelined by illness, he still shows a keen interest in seeing that the club “gets it done” and “done right.”
