Ethel Jones Sharpe, 92, of Hunting Country Road died June 16, 2013.

A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. T. A. and Cordelia Norville Jones and the wife of the late Hugh Paley Sharpe Jr.

She was a member of Columbus First Baptist Church and was retired from Community Cash.  She was an avid gardener along with being a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a son, Hugh P. Sharpe III and wife, Melissa, of Landrum; a daughter, Ann Liden of Fishers, Ind.; a brother, Albert Jones of Forest City, N.C.; five grandchildren, Amanda Atkins and husband Corey, Steven Sharpe, Heather Liden, Matthew Liden and Andrew Liden; and two great-grandchildren Lilly and Dillon Atkins.

The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Petty Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 4 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
