A 1/4 cent tax decrease means that our local government has enough revenue to function. Give them more and they will find a way to spend it. That is the way governments work.

Those of us that grew up pinching every penny know how important the smallest amounts are. Everett Dirksen once said, “A million here, a million there” pretty soon you are talking real money.”  That is the way politicians think.

Governments are known to spend excess money so their budgets will not be cut the following year. Give them what they need, and no more.
