On April 19 John Hodge, principal at Campobello Gramling School traveled to San Antonio, Texas to accept an International Reading Association
Award on behalf of the students, teachers and staff at the school. Campobello Gramling was the only school in South Carolina to be named an Exemplary Reading School for 2013.
Eighth grader, Lacey Camp commented on the award by saying, “All of our hard work is finally paying off. I am proud to be a part of a school that gets a national award.”
Students and teachers worked diligently to meet the criteria set forth by the International Reading Association, and they continue their hard work each day.
Hodge noted, “It was such an honor this past weekend to represent our school in San Antonio. This award is a testament to the hard work of our teachers and students. We are pleased to be a part of an organization that recognizes excellence in reading education.”
