FHS receives Humane Society of the U.S. Award

Foothills Humane Society (FHS) was recently selected by the Humane Society of the United States for an honor. They received a “Shelters We Love Award” for their community outreach and outstanding work for animals in the foothills area.  This award was announced by Kimberley Alboum, N.C. State Director of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).  The public is invited to attend an award ceremony to be held Thursday, April 25 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Isothermal Community College, Polk County Campus located at 1255 West Mills Street in Columbus.

In addition to this award ceremony, there will be a “grassroots” meeting for the public to hear about other HSUS activities and legislation. For more information about this event or about Foothills Humane Society, please call 828-863-4444.
