A quick fix for better golf

It’s springtime at the Masters and if that doesn’t get you excited about playing golf than nothing will.
This is a special week in golf with the first major championship of the year being the unofficial start of the golf season. In the spring most everyone gets excited about playing and practicing and looking for that quick fix.
As PGA instructors we see golfers heading to the practice range in droves to hit balls and get their game back after the winter layoff, often to no avail. Golfers will try anything to improve….tips from their buddies, reading golf instructional books, watching lessons on the Golf Channel, buying new equipment and reading cover to cover the current Golf Digest magazine.
Lou Hoskyns, the great PGA professional at Tryon Country Club and Red Fox Country Club for so many years, would say to us working for him …. “I will have a lot of lessons this week, Golf Digest just hit the newsstands and after people read all the articles and try all the quick fix tips from the magazine they will be calling for help.”
