Laurel Hurst donates to Steps to HOPE

Laurel Hurst residents have decided to choose a charity each month to support. For the month of February they collected items to donate to both the Second Chance Thrift Sore and to the Steps to HOPE Shelter. Residents went through their closets and drawers and filled the entire back half of the bus with items to donate for resale. Then they collected two large bags full of toiletries and baby items to take to Steps to HOPE. And of course they had to do some shopping. Rachel Ramsey and her staff were wonderful to explain what happens at Steps to HOPE and how the money from the Second Chance Thrift Store is used to help fund all they do. At the end of the day, resident Claudette Morissette said, “It feels really good to do something good for other people.” Vera Benson, Jean Gregonis, Jane Scarborough, Gail Polaski and Claudette Morissette pass donated items to Randy Conklin at The Second Chance Thrift Store.
