Kiwanis members learned about sustainable agriculture and the dangers of genetically modified organisms from Leap Farm owner Lee Mink during the club’s meeting Wednesday, Feb. 27. Mink moved to the area from Alabama years ago and began farming to feed his family. Now he chooses to sell his produce within a 25-mile range of the farm so those purchasing the items are getting the freshest produce possible. Mink also holds workshops at his farm for would-be home gardeners or others interested in making a go of growing produce for sale. (photo by Boyd Correll)
