‘How to Ring Steward and Scribe’

The Saturday, March 9, free “How to Ring Steward and Scribe” forum is still a go; as is the free lunch.

The only change is instead of the moderator being Margaret Freeman, who now has another commitment; there will be a triad of presenters.

Kay Whitlock from Southern Pines, N.C. (licensed “R” judge and horse show manager for 30-plus years) will discuss the protocols for scribing, Gretchen Verbonic (retired “S” judge, competitor and trainer) will discuss the importance and intricacies of ring stewarding and Marlene Whitaker (competitor and renowned international freestyle designer) will discuss at least one winning, state of the art, Grand Prix Freestyle.

This forum will take place at FENCE House, where there will be a large screen for viewing videoed rides and demonstrations.

The forum starts at noon, with a buffet “working” lunch, meaning the forum will start while participants are eating.

The first session will focus on ring stewarding, followed by scribing and then the freestyle discussion.

Participants will sit at tables to facilitate eating and note taking. Beverages will be available all afternoon. This forum will last at least three hours.

There are still few openings, if you are interested in attending this educational free forum please call FENCE (828-859-9021) before Monday, March 4.

FENCE would like to thank the North Carolina Dressage and CT Association (NCDCTA) for their generous sponsorship of this event.
