TFAC developing directory of performing and visual artists
Published 9:59 pm Monday, December 10, 2012
Tryon Fine Arts Center has a call out to artists who are interested in being listed in the new Creative Artists’ Directory to be published locally and available online.
Visual artists, musicians, performers, writers and other artists are all invited to become part of this list that will describe their talents and abilities and contact information.
The purpose of the directory is to provide schools, businesses and agencies in the greater Tryon and Landrum areas of North and South Carolina with access to local, regional and international teaching artists for hands-on workshops, residencies, interactive performances and mentoring opportunities.
Artists who register with the directory will have an opportunity to learn more about working with schools by participating in a free seminar to be held at Stearns Education Center on Thursday, Jan. 24 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Emily Bartlett, Director of Polk County Schools 21st Century Learning Center and Cindy Riddle, Fine Arts Coordinator for District 1 schools in Spartanburg County, will conduct the seminar.
There is a small fee to be listed in the Creative Artists’ Directory. If you are interested in becoming part of this directory, contact Tryon Fine Arts Center’s Education Director Marianne Carruth at 828-859-8322 with questions.
