Bid in the live and silent auctions at this year’s Hospice of the Carolina Foothills (HoFC) Boots & Bling Gala.

All proceeds from the Boots & Bling Gala benefit Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, which serves patients and families in Polk, Spartanburg and Greenville Counties. This event kicks off a week of fundraising and awareness during November, which is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. The week following has 29 area restaurants partnering with HoCF in “Dining Out for Hospice.”

“Raising money has to be creative and fun! And so we’re going to be creative and have fun,” said Marybeth Trunk of The Friendship Circle, the women’s volunteer group that works on behalf of Hospice House and  is the organizer of Boots & Bling.

The gala will be held at the Hospice Thrift Barn in Landrum on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 6-10 p.m. When you enter you’ll be transported to “The Red Rose Dance Hall,” where you’ll enjoy great food, refreshments, music for dancing and the Live Auction of select items and “experiences” hosted by Polk County’s very own, fast-talking, eagle-eyed auctioneer, Joey Cabinnas.

What will you bid on between dances?  Here’s a sampling.

Las Vegas: Spend three days/two nights for four people at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club, plus a $500 gift card.

Eight guests will be whisked away to Greenville by Atchinson Limousine Service for a gourmet interactive dinner at Granata’s Catering and Kitchen Studio. You’ll be split into teams and work with Chef Michael Granata who will help you prepare and serve one course of an elegant gourmet meal for an evening of culinary education, fine dining and fun!

Grand getaway: Make your break to a weekend at Wild Dunes at Isle of Palms, S.C. — in a BMW.

Llyn Strong from Greenville has again donated her talent and imagination toward creating a stunning piece of bling.
