The community will have another opportunity to celebrate Polk County’s agriculture heritage on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., when the Town of Columbus will host its fourth annual Columbus Farm Festival. The festival will be held on Mills Street, Stearns Park and in and around Courthouse Square. The event will be held rain or shine.
The downtown area will be closed to vehicles but open to pedestrians who can enjoy displays of farm animals, such as draft horses, goats and chickens, as well as other farm products and equipment. Festival-goers can also watch craftsmen make handcrafted items and take part in a variety of other activities.
An extended tailgate market Saturday will offer produce and other products. There will also be a hayride and corn hole games sponsored by the Polk County FFA.
The Columbus Farm Festival is sponsored by the Polk County Agricture Development Office, Town of Columbus and the Polk County Cooperative Extension Center.
