Gross speaks at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Sept. 23

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will meet at the Tryon Youth Center on Rt. 176 N. at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23.
Jim Gross will speak on the topic, “My Brother’s Keeper.” “Gross is from Lima, Ohio. He received a B.A. from Ohio State University and later joined his family’s linen service business. He recently participated in an exclusive four-member panel to discuss various green initiative topics.
He was invited by The Leading Hotels of the World Ltd. and Sustainable Travel International (STI), the foremost non-profit organization in responsible tourism, to their annual convention in Monte Carlo, Monaco. As one of the panelists, Gross is recognized internationally as a laundry management consultant for hotels, resorts, cruise ships, hospitals and commercial facilities. His areas of specialization also include the development of energy conservation projects. With more than 40 years’ experience in laundry management and operations, Gross has specialized in laundry consulting for the past 20 years, with a focus on efficiency, energy conservation and the environment. His equipment recommendations and energy saving programs have been used by hospitality organizations and institutions throughout the world.
His friend Ira Feinburg has an interesting story to tell about a desire to help with the drive for Israeli independence in 1948. Jim will talk about Ira Feinburg’s experiences.
