The American Legion Auxiliary recently hosted citizens who had attended Girl’s State. These are girls who are in the upper ten percent of their class in their grades and are well rounded in outside activities.
Attending the meeting from Polk County High School was Makenzie White, who went to Salisbury, N.C. Attending from Landrum High School was Holly Horton, who went to Greenwood, S.C.
Members said it was interesting to note the experiences the students had from two different states.
Light refreshments were served.
