In May, former Polk County High School student Yinghan Ding graduated summa cum laude from Hamilton College in Hamilton, N.Y. with a double major in mathematics and economics. He was the valedictorian of his class of 500 and delivered the valedictory address at the commencement ceremony. His mother came from Beijing to attend the commencement. He is a co-op student in Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. and will graduate there with a degree in engineering in December.
