Pvt. E2 Robert Andrew Edney, son of Marie Edney Greenholtz, and stepson

of Stephen Wayne Greenholtz of Tryon and Rutherforton, has been appointed to serve as a Congressional Honor Guard at the Democratic National Convention at Charlotte, N.C.
Pvt. Edney, a 2011 graduate of Polk County High School, enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard in Sept. 2011, and received his training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. He graduated as an MP from Alpha Co. 795th Military Police Battalion on March 15.
Edney is to be deployed to Afghanistan next year.
