Preparation for the Back to School Bash passed a milestone Tuesday night, Aug. 7, when volunteers at Tryon United Methodist Church finished filling 300 bags of school supplies for area children. The end-of-summer celebration, set for Saturday, Aug. 11 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., features free food, inflatables, games and an assortment of school supplies geared for every grade. Sponsored by a Kirby Civic Events grant from the Polk County Community Foundation, the Back to School Bash will take place at Tryon United Methodist Church at 195 New Market Road.
