The clinic is a component of the six-month therapeutic massage program initiated in April 2012. Coursework combines anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, business practices, ethics and specific massage modalities with hands-on practice of massage techniques. Upon completion, graduates of the program may apply for the MBLex exam to practice therapeutic massage in the state of North Carolina.
Clinic dates are July 26, Aug. 2, 9 and 30 between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  Appointments may be scheduled by calling the Polk Center at 828-894-3092.
Students will also offer free chair massages at Lake Lure Olympiad in Lake Lure on Aug. 25, Relay for Life in Rutherfordton on Sept. 7 and Ache Around the Lake at Lake Lanier in Tryon on Sept. 22.
